Fairfield is a city located in the San Francisco Bay Area in the Northern California area. It is located in the northeastern part of the Bay Area and is roughly 34 miles away from San Francisco and roughly 30 miles away from Oakland. It is part of a larger metropolitan area and is sometimes referred to as “The Flats”. The estimated population of the city is 108,00 residents, ranked ninth in the metropolitan area.
The economic picture of the city is diverse and offers a wide array of options for job seekers of all backgrounds. There are many large scale companies in the area as well as private employers. Some of the larger companies in the area include, Anheuser-Busch, Jelly Belly Candy Company, Edwards Cinema, Copart Auto, and Clorox, just to name a few. Despite a great diverse array of employment opportunities the area has an unemployment rate of around 5%, which is lower than the national average.

The city of of Fairfield has a great deal of office and retail space for entrepreneurs looking to start or continue to grow their business. In a recent survey of options in the greater area vacancies showcased prices similar to that of other larger cities. In a recent search smaller office space options started at around $350 - $750 a month. Larger warehouse and retail storefronts started at around $1 - $3 a square foot and varied in amenities, sizes, and locations. The area has a great wealth of options in and around the area and within driving distance of the other large cities in the San Francisco Bay Area.
The climate of the city is similar to that of San Francisco and the rest of the bay area. The weather is relatively mild for most of the months with few extremes to note. There is a great deal of precipitation, with wetter winters, but there are few instances of extreme patterns, although they have occurred in the past.
