One of the fastest growing areas in the United States, and one of the largest cities in the state of Texas is Ft Worth. Ft Worth has been considered the gateway to the American West, and has a deep historical context for Texas and the “Wild West”. It is a central hub for business, technology, and a variety of great opportunities. The estimated population of Ft Worth is 720,250 in the city center, and upwards of 6.1 million metropolitan area. Since 1849 the city has been gaining steam in a variety of capacities.

Economy / Sports:

The economic picture of the greater Ft Worth area covers a great deal of industries. There are several large companies, and major corporations that call the area home. The area also has one of the busiest Airports in the United States. There are no current professional sports teams in the area, however, the nearby city of Dallas has several teams that most sports fan in the Ft Worth area cheer for. The Dallas Stars, The Dallas Cowboys, and The Dallas Mavericks are all located just outside of the greater metropolitan area, and receive much fan fare.

Crime / Education:

The crime rate of Ft Worth Texas is 80 per one thousand residents and is relatively high in some areas. It’s important to understand that all large cities have elevated crime rates in certain areas, but as a whole, there are some sections of the greater metropolitan area that are quite safe, and especially in suburban areas.
Residents looking to get a higher education will find that there is a great deal of opportunities in the local area. Some of the larger colleges in the area include Texas Christian University, Texas Wesleyan University, Southwestern Baptist, and many others. The colleges in the area have sports teams that receive fanatical fan fare, especially TCU, which gets a lot of media attention for their NCAA sports.
