A large province in the eastern-central area of Canada is Quebec. Quebec is known for a lot of different things, but one of the major points of interest is the fact that the area is predominantly French speaking. The sole official language of the area is French. The estimated population of Quebec is the second largest in the country and is estimated around 7.8 million residents. It also holds the second highest GDP in the nation. There is a combination of climates in the region with many experiencing what is classified as a humid continental climate with four different seasons. The winters are categorized as very cold with lots of snowfall. The other seasons feature moderate to humid climate with changes often felt in temperature, humidity, and precipitation. The northern regions of the area have a much colder climate, with below freezing temperatures commonplace, with much cooler summers than other parts of the region, due to the proximity towards the Arctic Ocean.
The crime rates of Quebec is roughly 800 per 100000 residents, which is lower than the national average and amongst the lowest in the Country. Even though there are some spots with a heightened crime rate, the area has a lower instance of violent crime overall.
