The local economy hinges largely in industries like shipping, processing, manufacturing, among others. The area is a modern mix of different vocations to explore, and manages to keep several of the Fortune 1000 companies in the area. Baltimore Culture:

The climate and weather in the area is considered humid subtropical climate allowing for a variety of temperatures throughout the year. The summers are hot, yet not extreme, the winters are cool and moist and it can snow in many levels, and the spring is pleasant, with temperatures up to the 70’s. The area does not see a lot of extreme fluctuation, despite its proximity to the eastern coast and colder areas.
The mayor of Baltimore is Stephanie Rawlings-Blake and she is the 49th mayor. She took office February 4, 2010 and has experience as City Council President, and many other political affiliations in the city. She was the youngest person ever elected to the City Council at age 25, and has served the community in a variety of capacities before landing the position of mayor.
