The city of Sacramento is the capital of the state of California. Located in the northern part of the state, it is a large city with a growing population. The estimated population of the city is roughly 486,189 and is ranked the 7th largest city in the state of California. Sacramento is part of a greater metropolitan area that includes El Dorado, Placer, and Yolo, and was even referred to by Time Magazine as “America's most integrated city” in 2002.
The economic picture Sacramento relies heavily on service and government industry. While those are large in the area, there are smaller pieces of the economic pie, that reflect a diversity and integration that many other large cities receive. Some of the large companies in the city include Aerojet, Arno Political Consultants, Grind Hard Entertainment, Inductive automation, Unify Corporation, Tower Records, The McClatchy Company, and GenCorp, just to name a few. The unemployment rate of Sacramento is 12.5%, which is higher than the national average.
The office space and retail space in the greater Sacramento area is a point of interest for entrepreneurs of all types. Small office spaces abound in prime locations starting at $550 a month. Larger retail space is also available, staring at around $1 - $3 a square foot for 1,000 square feet of space. We also have office spaces (temporary, serviced, furnished, suuites, buildings, etc.) in Roseville, Citrus Heights, Rancho Cordova, and Davis.
The climate of the city of Sacramento is much like other cities in the northern California region. The area is quite warm and dry in the summers and cooler in the winters with varying temperatures, with no extremes in each direction.
