The San Antonio climate is humid subtropical in classification. It alternates between several different temperatures and humidity levels. The area receives mild to cool winters with little snowfall. The area also receives high heat and humidity in the summer with temperatures in the high 90’s, and is relatively on par with other parts of the state of Texas. As a democratic candidate, he has been working towards moving San Antonio into the modern times, with many upgrades to the community to inspire job growth, business, and tourism. Castro received 56% of the vote during the 2009 Mayoral election and is the fifth Hispanic mayor in the history of the city.
